I have been begging Bums & Roses to make flare pants forever, so when they finally restocked, I was all over it. The first time they launched, they sold out before I could snag a pair—I was NOT a happy camper. So you can bet I grabbed both colors the moment they came back. I’ll upload pics of the gray pair later.
Let me just say: These are the most amazingly comfortable pants AND the best style—put together! If they made these in every single print of their usual Mama Pants, I’d buy every single pair. They are THAT good.
For reference:
,•,These are a size Large
,•,I’m 41 years old
,•,About 5’7”
,•,Around 170 lbs (though to be honest, it’s more extra skin than fit lately—been going hard on the ice cream… YOLO!)
,•,38A bust
,•,33” natural waist
,•,About 44–45” hips
Sizing:
This part gets a little tricky. It’s honestly hard to tell if these are slightly too big or slightly too small. My first ever B&R order was the thick black Mama Joggers in a Medium, and they fit like a GLOVE. But here’s the thing…
When I first ordered them, the Medium was insanely loose and big on me. I went back and forth with customer service for weeks, insisting there was no way a Small would fit me. They eventually acknowledged a manufacturing defect and sent me a garment-specific sizing chart after measuring that specific pair. They replaced them with a true Medium—which turned out to be perfect. I was so happy! (Side note: I’m devastated they haven’t restocked these in more solids or prints. B&R, please give the people what they want!)
Months—and, let’s be honest, quite a bit more ice cream—later, those joggers are getting real tight around the muffin zone (if ya know what I mean). Which brings me back to these flares. I LOVE the style. I absolutely cannot stand anything pinching or squeezing my midsection. It’s my #1 clothing pet peeve, and these flares? They have the most perfect, long foldover waistband that completely solves that problem.
Fit & Fabric:
,•,Buttery soft
,•,Long enough for tall girls (which is basically a unicorn find)
,•,Foldover waist
,•,Flared bottoms
What more could a girl ask for?!
Okay… just a few requests:
A) Please at least double the thickness so that they look like they appear in the stock photo while on. Right now, the fabric feels about as thick as two paper towels stacked together. That’s my biggest complaint—they’re definitely see-through. I personally don’t mind, but if visible cellulite or dimples bother you, these aren’t the pants for you. The stock photos make them look much thicker than they are—I definitely expected more coverage based on the images.
B) PLEASE create a proper body measurement sizing chart. This is my biggest frustration with B&R. It’s the reason I only own four women’s items (the other being a long sleeve shirt I’ve literally worn into the ground—more on that in a second), and everything else I’ve bought is for my son.
Without a measurement chart, sizing is a total gamble. “Size 2–4,” “6–8,” etc. is arbitrary—every brand uses different measurements to define those ranges. I would happily buy dozens of joggers if I didn’t dread the return process. These flares are the only exception I’ve made, and unless a chart appears, I’m officially on strike. Not kidding.
BONUS PLEA TO B&R:
While we’re here… please, PLEASE do a permanent restock of all sizes—and more solid colors or gorgeous prints—of the Women’s Relaxed Fit Long Sleeve Shirt. It’s literally the most amazing shirt I’ve ever owned. I’ve worn mine so much it’s completely worn out, which I’ve never had happen with any other bamboo shirt. That should tell you how much I loved it. Same goes for the original THICK Mama Joggers, permanent restock in solids and the gorgeous prints you have for pajamas; the product page is a bit deceptive, I’ve spoken to many B&R mamas who are all in agreement, as it shows the “Mama Joggers” available in ‘all the colors shown below’, but - for example, the only thick Mama joggers available is the black and red floral, but they all show the same title, which is super confusing and does not make sense.

All in all, I’m thrilled these were restocked and so happy with the overall style and comfort. I was hoping they’d be more suitable for wearing outside the house, but unless I’m in a long shirt, they’re a bit too thin for that. Just a few small tweaks, and these pants would be literally perfect.
